THE RAT PACK TRIBUTE

The Mathieu De Wit & Tom McGuire Sextet perform “The Rat Pack Tribute,” which is their repertoire of signature jazz songs from the 1950s and 60s made popular by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr, the legendary Las Vegas performers. The sextet is a line-up of top musicians from the Belgian jazz scene.

“We love the Rat Pack’s music and its energy,” said Mathieu De Wit, musical director and pianist. “Rat Pack songs come from a jazz repertoire that is more accessible for people, which appeals to a wide audience. We make it swing, we make it joyful, and we share it.”

“We entertain our audience by offering a more popular impression about jazz music,” said Tom McGuire, vocalist. “As a result of our live performance, it would be great when people go home and listen to the real Rat Pack and discover how this wonderful music sounded sixty years ago.”

THE RAT PACK

The term “Rat Pack” originally designated an informal Hollywood social set involving Humphrey Bogart and his pals, including Frank Sinatra. After Bogart died in 1957, Sinatra filled the void with his own Rat Pack members. They were always partying, particularly in Las Vegas.
